Dessert: Chocolate Cream Cake

Ingredients
Cake:
2 2/3 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter
2 1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
3 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 1/2 cup ice water
Butter Cream Filling:
1/2 cup butter
2 1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Chocolate-Cream Cheese Frosting:
4 oz cream cheese
3 tbsp milk
3 3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
3 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Cake:
1. Grease and lightly flour 3 9" baking pans.
2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on high for 30 seconds.
4. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until combined.
5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
6. Beat in melted chocolate.
7. Alternately add flour mixture and ice water, beating after each until just combined.
8. Pour batter into prepared pans.
9. Bake at 350 F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
10. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes.
11. Remove from pans; cool completely on racks.
12. Make Filling and Frosting, below.
13. Spread Butter Cream Filling on top of two layers; stack layers.
14. Top with remaining layer; frost cake with Chocolate-Cream Cheese Frosting.
Butter Cream Filling:
1. Beat butter until softened.
2. Beat in sifted powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
3. Beat in additional milk as necessary for desired spreadable consistency.

1. Beat cream cheese until softened.
2. Beat in milk.
3. Beat in sifted powdered sugar.
4. Beat in chocolate and vanilla.
