Slow Cooker: Slow Cooker 40 Clove Chicken

Ingredients
4 chicken breasts
1-2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup white wine
2 tsp dried parsley
2 tbsp dry vermouth
2 tbsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
40 cloves of garlic (about 2 heads) peeled
4 stalks celery, sliced
1 lemon, juice and peel
Directions
1. sprinkle chicken with salt
2. heat oil or large skillet over medium heat
3. add chicken and brown on all sides
4. remove
5. combine wine, parsley, vermouth, basil, and oregano in a large bowl
6. add garlic and celery, coat well
7. transfer garlic and celery to crock pot with slotted spoon
8. add chicken to herb mixture, coat well
9. place chicken on top of celery and cloves
10. sprinkle lemon juice and peel over chicken
11. cook on low 6 hours
12. sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving
