Main Dish: Baked Apples Stuffed with Sausage

Ingredients

6 Large baking apples, such as Ida reds or golden delicious (not red delicious)

1 cup well seasoned sausage meat or slices small link sausages

2 TBSP brown sugar

Directions

preheat oven to 350

cut or slice off the tops of the apples and scoop out the middle leaving 3/4" thick shells

cut the pulp away from the cores and chop it

combine pulp with sausages

sprinkle apples with brown sugar and place in a baking dish

fill heaping full with sausage mix

bake uncovered until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork, but still hold their shape and sausage is cooked (30-40 minutes)
