Dessert: Pear and Apple Pie

Ingredients

79 grams (1/2 cup + 2 tbsps) brown sugar

35 grams (1/4 cup + 2 tbsps) all-purpose flour

1 tsp apple pie spice

1/4 tsp sale

2 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced 1/8" thick

2 large pears, peeled, cored, and sliced 1/8" thick

2 tsps vanilla extract

1 pie pastry

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400

2. In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, apple pie spice, and salt

3. Add the apple, pears, and vanilla, tossing to combine

4. Spoon the filling into the pie shell

5. Place the remaining dough over the apples. Seal and crimp the crust, then vent the top of the pie

6. Bake the pie for about 1 hour or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is actively bubbling in the center
